Hitting 7 more bombs than he has all season, Lombard homered 8 times in round one, 14 times in round two, and 11 times in round three to ultimately beat the Yankees' Mike Rushford for the crown. Other participants included Red Sox Tripp Wall and Erik Jacquez, Giant Donn Ensberg, Mets Alex Hoffman and Rafael Mesa, and Ranger Dan Bonds.
